It’s official

We moved our daughter into her college room yesterday.  Friends keep telling me that “she’s not far away” in an attempt to make me feel better.  The distance doesn’t change the fact that she no longer sleeps across the hall from our room, or that I will get to see her face every single day, or the fact that our relationship will change because she’s out there making her way and mark in the world.  Again, like my last post said, I’ve VERY excited for her, but I also feel the loss in the house.  Even our dog, Daisy, was sitting by the back door most of last night whining for her human “sister”.  They’ve been inseparable for 13.5 years.  We all feel the loss and we’ll all have to figure out what our new “normal” looks like.  I’ll let you know how it goes.
