Welcome to my advisor-mom blog!

Hello and welcome to this blog!  I’m so excited to share and interact with you all.  I’m a full-time academic advisor and also the mother of a daughter who will be starting college in about 6 weeks; YIKES!

I decided to start this blog for two reasons: 1) hindsight is a great educator and since the days are long and the years are short, I wanted to document the parenting and planning of a mom sending her only child to college, and 2) I wanted to share what it’s like to be on the opposite side of the dinner table and now the opposite side of the desk from the perspective of a mom-advisor.  I’ll give tips, shortcuts, and questions to ask as you send your child to and through college.
